There are endless wedding venues in the Hudson Valley with beautiful wedding decor. From historic buildings to farms and ballrooms, couples getting married in the area have a slew of wedding venues to choose from. However, what happens when you find the perfect wedding venue, but there are a few décor elements you wish you could change? We have a few wedding décor fixes that can help alter the look of almost any wedding venue.

Oversized wedding space.
If the reception room is too large for your wedding size, there are a few ways to make the space look smaller. Add in a few furniture groupings to create intimate spaces within the large room. Pipe and drape is a great way to block off parts of a room that are extra, unnecessary space. Having low, hanging centerpieces over your reception tables is also a creative way to make the ceiling look lower.

Gaudy wallpaper.
If you want a clean look to your reception space, but it has busy wallpaper. adding pipe and drape is the best fix. Pipe and drape adds a neutral and crisp look to any space. By also adding uplighting, it will make your reception space pop even more!

The carpet is an ugly pattern.
Many wedding venues add colorful, patterned carpet to their reception spaces. This is because these patterns can hide stains and wear and tear easier than neutral colored carpet. Many couples think these busy carpets will clash with their wedding décor. A quick fix is to rent a dance floor. Once a large dance floor and several reception tables are in the room, the majority of the carpet will be covered.

The chairs look outdated.
Standard ballroom chairs are not usually a pretty sight. If you aren’t in love with your wedding venue’s chairs, try renting alternative ones. Chiavari chairs, wooden benches or upholstered chairs will make a huge difference in the look of your reception room.
