Who inspires you musically?
DJ Jonathan: There are actually two artists that inspire me musically and they are the late Michael Jackson and today’s superstar Kanye West. Growing up MJ was who I listened to majority of the time, his career as a musician and performer just excited me from his dancing to catalog of music. From a mellow slow tune to a upbeat dance track, his music is something that can be played when djing at pretty much any event. As for Kanye West where his music may not be widely known as well as the great Michael Jackson’s, nor have as many dance tunes to step to, this household name’s creativity, drive and intellect has made him one of the best most successful artists of our time. Showing he can do anything he sets his mind to is a huge inspiration musically. Yes these two artists are GREAT inspirations to me being a DJ today.
What inspires you to DJ weddings?
DJ Jonathan: DJing in itself is a joy, but what makes it even more enjoyable is making people happy. Successfully djing a wedding, creating a memorable moment and being part of someone’s special day are all inspirations to DJing weddings. To giving the crowd an event to remember and making the newlywed spew tears of joy and laughter on the account of you- the Dj, the feeling… Priceless.
What’s one thing you love about weddings in general?
DJ Jonathan: Just the love that’s in the air and being a part of that special day in the couple’s life. It’s the first day of a new beginning.
What’s the best advice you can give a bride and groom searching for a DJ?
DJ Jonathan: Find a DJ that really cares about their craft and cares about catering to your needs. Remember it’s your day, and everything should be to your liking.
What advice can you offer to the couple about planning in general?
DJ Jonathan: Maybe try to visualize how you want your day to be and explain it in detail to your DJ so he can make sure the day is perfect. Try not to procrastinate with your planning, make time for everything and go through things thoroughly. When it’s all done take a deep breath and smile, because now it’s time to celebrate!
