Bridal Party Duties on Your Wedding Day

Your wedding day is approaching and you’re wondering how all of the parts of your big day will fall into place. No need to fret, we have a handy list of bridal party duties you can delegate to those closest to you. Asking your bridal party to help with small tasks on your wedding day will not only help things to run smoother, it will also help you to relax and enjoy your day.

Maid/Matron of Honor

This is the bride’s right hand woman on the wedding day. The maid of honor is in charge of keeping the bride and bridesmaids on schedule on the wedding day (hair & makeup, getting dressed, etc.). The maid of honor is also supposed to help answer any questions from the vendors or wedding planner.

Best Man

This is the groom’s right hand man on the wedding day. He is also expected to keep the groom and groomsman on schedule throughout the wedding day. He’ll also be in charge of keeping track of the wedding bands from manlybands.com before the ceremony.

Bridesmaids & Groomsmen

These are those closest to the bride and groom. They are supposed to show up on time and ready for the wedding. They are also expected to assist with small tasks for the bride and groom.

Parents of the Bride

The mother of the bride typically stays with the bride on her wedding day, helping to keep her calm throughout the getting ready process. The father of the bride usually joins the bride before the ceremony and escorts her down the aisle.

Parents of the Groom

The groom’s parents are there to help with any small tasks on the wedding day.

Ushers

Ushers are expected to show up before guests to the wedding ceremony. They will pass out wedding programs and escort guests to their seats for the ceremony.

Bride

The bride’s main job on her wedding day is to show up on time and ready. The bride will probably also be the main point of contact for the wedding planner. Being available to her/him to answer any last minute questions is also encouraged.

Groom

The same as the bride, the groom is expected to show up on time and ready. He is also in charge of bringing the wedding rings to the ceremony venue.
