Wedding First Dance Song Ideas
The wedding first dance, this is usually one of the most anticipated moments of a wedding day. It is the first time the couple gets to showcase their love as a newly married couple. It is the kick off of the reception dancing. And let’s be honest, the first dance is usually the first time a bride and groom get a few moments to talk to one another alone on their wedding day. All of these reasons entail why a wedding first dance is one of the most important aspects of a wedding reception.

In our 10+ years as wedding DJs, we have seen countless wedding first dances. From traditional, to choreographed to romantic to humorous, no two wedding first dances are alike. Over the past few decades, the wedding first dance has seen a lot of changes. In today’s world, couples view the first dance as a time to express their relationship as a couple. Some couples spend weeks taking dance lessons to learn how to flawlessly dance the waltz or foxtrot. Other couples want their first dance to be silly and entertain guests, opting to choreograph a dance to a hip hop or pop song. Some brides may even have their heart set on recreating Dirty Dancing’s “Time of My Life” routine by jumping into their groom’s arms. Every couple is different, so we think it’s best for engaged couples to have a first dance that they are comfortable with and that will be meaningful to them as a couple.
