When a new year approaches, we have more to look forward to than just a fresh start and New Year’s resolutions. We get to see a new year’s take on wedding trends. For 2016, some of the trends in the wedding industry are pretty unique from previous years. If you’re looking to get some inspiration for your upcoming nuptials, take a look below at some of our favorite 2016 wedding trends.

1. Rose Gold
We’ve seen metallics in weddings of recent years. However, rose gold is the “it” metallic color for 2016. It will make appearances on reception tables, wedding cakes, cocktails and the like.

2. Lighting
LED uplighting has been a popular staple for reception décor for some time. Couples are also incorporating chandeliers and market string lights into their lighting concepts for their weddings.
3. Libations
As a tactic to save on bar costs, instead of having a full open bar, couples are opting to serve a few cocktails, along with beer and wine. Serving you and your fiancé’s favorite libations is a great way to choose which signature cocktails to serve.

4. Wild flowers
We don’t mean this literally, but brides are opting for wild “looking” flowers. Cascading bouquets and centerpieces that have a natural and “fresh picked” look are the preference for brides in 2016.

5. Family-style dinners
Food stations and plated dinners have been the most popular choices for wedding reception dinners up until this year. Now couples are opting for more intimate family-style dinners where guests can share food and memories with one another.
6. Sustainable food
More and more couples are seeking out caterers and venues that can provide them with sustainable food. Organic and locally sourced options are all the rage for 2016 weddings.

7. Mixed reception seating
Couples getting married in 2016 have decided that they want something different for their wedding reception seating. That’s why they are choosing seating options that include a mix of square, round and long rectangle tables. Farm table style seating is also still popular in 2016.
